dublin's best takeaways

Last updated Aug 13, 2023

When you stay with Staycity it’s easy to whip up a meal in your apartment’s kitchen, but sometimes a little help is appreciated. Ordering takeaway doesn’t mean you have to miss out on restaurant-quality food and premium cocktails. Forget soggy chip bags and dodgy curries, Dublin’s bursting with hip eateries redefining the classic takeaway.

1. dublin pizza company

There’s pizza and then there’s pizza. Dublin Pizza Company is an Irish-Italian mash up of woodfire pizza with organic Irish toppings. Their DPC pizza is slathered in mozzarella from West Cork and whiskey-cured salami from Dingle. They also do a mean vegan option with roasted veg and pine nuts. Make sure you add a side of black garlic and truffle aioli, it’s what pizza-dreams are made of. Order from their website for delivery every day from 5pm.

2. 777

Mexican food, but make it chic. 777 serves contemporary Mexican food with zingy margaritas. The perfect way to chill after a long week, try their taquito party kit (veggie options available) or their special chicken al pastor dinner kit. Add a bottle of margarita, a 4-pack of Pacifico or their famous violencia rojo – a spicy jalapeno infused cocktail. Order from their website on Thursday for Friday delivery, or collect from their restaurant on South George’s Street any day of the week.

3. bunsen

Simplicity itself, Bunsen is straight up Irish beef burgers. Think fat, juicy meat between two squishy buns, with fresh toppings and a secret sauce. Choose a single or double patty, add chips and a drink and you’re golden. They also do wine and some seriously tasty Irish beers. Ideal for a quick bite any night of the week. Order from their website or Deliveroo for delivery every day.

4. little dumpling

This is a fusion we can get behind. Straight from the dim sum kitchens of China, Little Dumpling is traditional, handmade dumplings made with Irish ingredients. With lunch and dinner deals and special Cantonese-roasted meats, there’s never a bad time to stuff your face. Their pork & Chinese cabbage pot stickers are dangerous. Order from their website or Deliveroo for delivery every day from 12pm.

5. chimac

‘Chimac’ means chicken and beer in Korean… Now that’s a winning combo if ever we heard one. Irish, free-range chicken is covered in crispy batter, double-fried and topped with your choice of sauce. The ‘siracha caramel pourover’ is liquid gold. Try it in a burger, as a plate of wings or a side of nugs, there’s no bad way to eat KFC. Wash it down with a beer or wine slushie - these guys have the best selection of Irish craft beer in Dublin. Order from Deliveroo or check out their website for collection options.

With a pantry of specialty ingredients, snacks, wines and unusual booze, you can whip up a storm from your kitchen or kick back with seasoned popcorn and craft cocktails. Order from their website for delivery and keep an eye on their takeaway diner for reopening updates.
