3. arty strolls

Take your business trip with a side of culture. La Défense doubles up as a mind-blowing open-air museum. It has some of the world’s most impressive corporate architecture including the famous Grande Arche, so big it could fit Notre Dame Cathedral inside it. It’s also home to 69 pieces of public art by sculptors, painters and visual artists. Enjoy a free art tour and spot a piece of the Berlin wall, Miró’s colourful lovers and César’s huge thumb!

4. happy hour bars

This is a work hard, play hard district. Come 5pm bars fill up for happy hour and the real business starts. The ultimate post-work spot is Nodd complete with panoramic terrace and view of Paris’ skyline, while Le Philosophe has a happy hour every day of the week with a wide range of beers, local wines and cocktails in a relaxed retro atmosphere. Weather permitting, climb up to the roof of La Défense’s Grande Arche and enjoy a breathtaking view of Paris.

5. park life

Take a break from the shiny buildings with a respite in André Malraux park. Beautifully designed to merge with its urban surroundings, the park winds and weaves around lawns, ponds and open spaces. Spot local birds or enjoy a lunchtime picnic over a good book, it’s the perfect antidote to the bustling business district.
