Work gets underway on Staycity Group's Fifth Wilde in Central London
DUBLIN, 16th DECEMBER 2025: Dublin-based aparthotel operator Staycity Group and developer The Property Trust Group have begun construction work on an £120m Wilde on a prime site in Shoreditch, East London.
The project, at 19 Great Eastern Road, will be managed by WT Partnership alongside contractor Gilbert Ash. Completion is scheduled for May 2027.
The design-led boutique lifestyle aparthotel will offer 275 stylish, well-appointed studio and one-bed self-catering apartments alongside a restaurant, café bar and cocktail lounge, dining space, fitness room and laundry. The 11-storey building will feature a biodiverse roof.
The property will become Staycity Group’s largest Wilde in London and its fifth in Zone 1, further augmenting its position as the leading independent aparthotel brand in the capital. Wilde currently operates in Aldgate, Covent Garden, Liverpool Street and Paddington.
Shoreditch is close to some of London’s most iconic visitor attractions, including the recently opened Museum of Shakespeare located on the site of the original Curtain playhouse which was recently excavated on neighbouring land, as well as being home to several art galleries, live music venues and independent shops.
The area offers excellent transport links, with easy access to four tube lines and extensive overground connections and is equidistant between the City of London’s traditional office district and the tech hub of silicon roundabout,
Said Staycity Group’s development director, London, Neil Short: “Shoreditch is a perfect location for Wilde with its cool vibe, thriving arts scene and buzzy markets. This impressive property will feature striking design elements and a bespoke food and beverage offer creating a comfortable blend of hotel and apartment. The Property Trust Group have been an excellent counter party and credit due to WT Partnership for their hard work in bringing this latest Wilde forward.”
The Wilde brand, which first launched in Covent Garden in 2018, now operates in key cities across Europe including Berlin, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London, Manchester and Vienna with further properties set to open next year in Amsterdam and Porto. [ENDS]
