Staycity Group and Citygrove secure resolution to grant planning for landmark hotel in London’s Vauxhall
DUBLIN, 19 SEPTEMBER 2025: Staycity Group, with Citygrove as development managers, have achieved resolution to grant planning permission for a new 185-room Wilde Aparthotel at Wyvil Court, in the heart of London’s Vauxhall.
The decision marks a significant milestone for both companies and represents a major investment in Lambeth’s hospitality and tourism sector.
Located at 10 Wyvil Road, the development will introduce Staycity’s boutique lifestyle brand, Wilde, to the wider Vauxhall and Nine Elms areas. The property will include a design-led front-of-house with publicly accessible reception, co-working space, café bar and pantry shop, creating a vibrant destination for visitors and the local community alike.
“This is an exciting milestone for Staycity Group to secure planning permission for its own development south of the Thames and in bringing a new Wilde to Vauxhall,” said Barry Hickey, managing director of Staycity’s real estate arm. “The design team on this project have created a beautiful, sustainable concept which will deliver a unique hospitality offering to guests and the wider community, will generate new jobs and deliver lasting economic benefits for the area.”
The approved plans feature high-quality architecture designed by EPR Architects, reflecting the character of the surrounding area while delivering a contemporary and highly sustainable building. Once complete, the development is expected to support around 140 jobs.
Tom Fuller, development director of Citygrove, added: “We are delighted to have secured resolution to grant at Wyvil Court. We have worked hard ensure the design responds sensitively to its context while meeting the highest standards of sustainability. This project will play an important role in the ongoing regeneration of Vauxhall and Nine Elms.”
The principal consultant team comprised EPR, OCSC, Wallace Whittle, Pillar and DP9.
Construction is expected to begin in summer 2026, with the new Wilde scheduled to open in early 2028. [ENDS]
