At the height of summer the city is swarmed with tourists and pretty sweltering! 2. london

There’s no denying that London has lots to offer year round, but cooler temperatures make getting around the city a whole lot easier, plus the parks come to life at this time of year. 3. edinburgh

Sure things are starting to cool down in this neck of the woods but the stunning Autumnal colours more than make up for it. Hike Arthur’s Seat for jaw-dropping views of the city and take in the crispy russet and amber landscape. 4. marseille

In Marseille summer stretches well into October with highs of 21 degrees! Expect to dine comfortably outdoors and remember to pack a few t-shirts. Wander around the portside markets and explore the colourful Panier District. Of course you haven’t visited this city properly without trying a steaming bowl of bouillabaisse (fish stew). ‘Paris is always a good idea’. If it’s good enough for Audrey Hepburn… From September onwards Paris gets less crowded and more local-friendly. Visit world-class museums and galleries which update their exhibitions around this time.
