Lyon-Perrache is a railway station located in the Perrache district, in the 2nd arrondissement of Lyon.It first opened to the public in 1857 and is located on the Paris–Marseille railway, Lyon–Geneva railway and Moret–Lyon railway.
It was built completely in 18 months, with work beginning in 1855. It was designed as a central station that would unify the lines of the three rail companies that served Lyon back then, which then combined to create the Chemins de fer de Paris à Lyon et à la Méditerranée (PLM), as the station was opening.
The station building is a classical style that’s made of a double rooftop and a grand-scale main building for passengers.
