In March 2018 what was formerly known as the New London Theatre was renamed the Gillian Lyne Theatre after the famous West End choreographer. Owned by Andrew Lloyd Webber’s theatre company, The Really Useful Theatre Company, it’s the first theatre to be named after a woman.
Located in Drury Lane, the 1,108-capacity venue was home to Andrew Lloyd Webber’s renowned musical Cats from 1973 until 2002. Since then, it has hosted Ian McKellen’s production of King Lear and War Horse, so it has a fairly star-studded history.
The theatre is also home to an underground car park, a cabaret venue, a basement nightclub, shops and a residential tower.
