Cambridge Theatre is a beautiful Grade II listed building occupying a triangular site on Seven Dials, near Covent Garden. It was one of five London theatres to open in 1930 and has seats on three levels: Stalls, Royal Circle and Grand Circle.
It has a rich history of both musicals and plays, with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s A Beautiful Game premiering and running from 2000 for a year. It also housed the slightly more controversial Jerry Springer The Opera from 2003 to 2005 and is currently home to Matilda, which has been running at the Cambridge Theatre since 2011.
Well-known as one of the most attractive and youngest theatres in the West End, it was completely refurbished in 1986, painted red with augmented light by candelabras.
