Trinity College is internationally recognised as Ireland’s leading university, located in the centre of the Irish capital. Founded in 1592, it is made up of 51 acres of land with a beautiful mix of classic and modern architecture and, as a result, attracts a large amount of tourists.
The university’s Old Library is the largest in Ireland housing six million printed volumes, along with manuscripts, journals, maps and the Book of Kells, an illuminated manuscript containing the four Gospels and handwritten and illustrated by monks in 800 AD. It is one of the world’s best preserved ancient manuscripts and attracts thousands of visitors each year.
