Publish date: Tue 02 Apr, 2019

The expansion of Dublin-based aparthotel operator Staycity Group continues apace with the recent signing of an exciting new project for Frankfurt, Germany. Staycity Aparthotels, Frankfurt Airport, will open in 2022 at Gateway Gardens, a commercial area at Germany’s largest airport.

A joint venture of OFB and Groß & Partner, this project will develop a 2,444 m² plot of land in to a 267-room, eight-storey Staycity aparthotel, on a fixed lease of 25 years for the total area of approximately 9,900 m².

Says Nikolaus Bieber, managing partner of Groß & Partner: “In Staycity, we see a high-performance hotel partner bringing an attractive concept to this area with great potential. Gateway Gardens is a mobility hub offering the best conditions for the hotel industry.”

Comments Markus Beike, Development Director Germany & CEE at Staycity, of the Group’s decision: “We are thrilled we can implement our successful aparthotel concept in Frankfurt Airport. Gateway Gardens has convinced us right from the start with its location advantages – the direct connection to Germany’s largest airport and the long-distance traffic as well as the growing neighborhood speak for themselves.”

The law firms Hogan Lovells and Kucera advised on the contract for this brand-new aparthotel, which is to receive a LEED gold certification and be designed by HPP Architects. Construction is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2020, with the opening scheduled for autumn 2022.
