Staycity announces second London site for Wilde Aparthotels

Leading aparthotel operator Staycity has announced the acquisition of a new site on London’s Commercial Road, Whitechapel, E1, which will open as a Wilde Aparthotel by Staycity at the end of 2020.

The project is being developed by Regal London and designed by Dexter Moren Associates with a long-term lease of the property agreed between Regal London and Staycity.

This will be Staycity’s second Wilde property in London following the opening of the first in London last year. When complete, the development will occupy 68,795 sq ft over 14 storeys and offer 156 studio and one-bed apartments, an ancillary café at ground floor level, guest lounge and gym.

Said Neil Short, Staycity Development Director, London: “This letting demonstrates that Staycity is an increasingly viable alternative to office and residential uses in central London. Commercial Road is a great fit for our Wilde brand with its close proximity to the City and the popular hipster East End haunts. It also benefits from a number of rail and tube services making it ideally placed for both our business and leisure customers.”

Staycity’s other London properties include Deptford, Greenwich, Heathrow and Covent Garden. Earlier this year the company announced its involvement in a 248-apartment scheme at London’s Paddington, scheduled for completion in 2021.

Wilde Aparthotels by Staycity is Staycity’s design-led premium brand, offering high quality, bespoke apartments equipped with the latest intelligent in-room technology including a 43” flat screen smart TV and touch control panels for lighting, air conditioning, towel rails and blinds. Luxury features include a super-comfy XL-sized bed, rainfall shower and high quality bed linen complemented by a collection of Irish-inspired crafted accessories and soft furnishings.

Staycity’s aparthotels are popular across Europe with both long-term and short-term guests who prefer less formal accommodation than a hotel. Staycity now has 7,000 apartments [operational and contracted pipeline] across the Staycity Aparthotels and Wilde Aparthotels by Staycity brands.

In December 2018 the company opened its fourth property in its hometown of Dublin, with 50 apartments in Chancery Lane and this year will open sites in Paris, Venice, Edinburgh, Berlin and Manchester. Staycity’s target is to operate 15,000 apartments by the end of 2023.
