STAY IN Apartment Hotels near New Street Station
Birmingham New Street station is a major transport and shopping hub with more than 140,000 passengers using its services every day. It’s the busiest station in the UK outside of London and a catalyst for the local area’s economy.
A 2010 redevelopment project saw the shopping centre above the station upgraded and opened as Grand Central, alongside a John Lewis department store, so make sure you indulge in a bit of shopping before you leave.
There are also a ton of places to eat, including Caffe Nero, Hotel Chocolat, Leon and Marks & Spencer. Fun fact: The original Birmingham New Street had the largest single span iron and glass arched roof in the world, a record it held until the opening of St Pancras in 1868.
