Without a doubt, for many people lunch is one of the best times of the day. It’s your time to relax after busy morning of enjoying the city. Let’s face it, all the visiting tourist attractions, landmarks and admiring the city often leaves you tired and in great need an hour or two for yourself to slow down, relax and recharge your batteries while having a bite.
Usually, we choose cafes or restaurants to enjoy lunch in the city we are visiting. However, what if you would like to try something different? A lunch outdoors, perhaps? In today’s post I want to highlight some of the best places to have your lunch outside while in Dublin.
3 Truly Magical Places to Enjoy Outdoors Lunch in Dublin
ChristChurch Cathedral
This beautiful church is located right in the city centre and features frontside gardens with many benches on which you can sit on, marvel on the beauty of the buildings around you and enjoy the quiet setting. And once you are done, you can follow by a visit to the cathedral itself or the nearby Dublinia, a viking and medieval Dublin exhibition.
And, if you fancy to go indoors, you can enjoy a great lunch in the Cathedral’s coffee shop located in the atmospheric 12th century crypt.
You can find out more information about Christchurch cathedral from their official website
Garden of Remembrance
The Garden of Remembrance is a memorial garden to all those people who gave their lives fighting for the Irish Freedom. The garden is situated in the Parnell Square, at the top of the O’Connell Street and features a memorial along with small fountains which all make it into a beautiful setting. The garden is a popular lunch spot for many people working or living nearby.
Tourist attractions near the garden include Irish Writers Museum and the Hugh Lane Gallery.

Stephen’s Green Park
Probably one of the most known landmarks in the city, Stephen’s Green is a beautiful park situated at the top of Grafton Street, one of the city’s two top shopping locations. The park offers a tranquil setting amongst all the noise of the city. Featuring two small lakes, fountains, beautiful flowers and plants as well as a truly magical atmosphere, the park is a must see, not only for lunch.
And, if you happen to be visiting in the summer, you can stumble upon one of the many jazz concerts taking place in the park’s alcove.
Your top tourist attractions in the parks vicinity include Trinity College and Grafton Street.
Dublin is a truly magical city in itself. I think anyone who has ever come over here would agree with that. But deep inside, there are very special places, the ones where you can stop throughout your busy day and simply enjoy the moment, in a truly beautiful setting.
