Tom Walsh - Chief Executive Officer
Tom was previously Plant Manager of Henkel Loctite Ireland, a high-tech specialty chemical and biomedical manufacturer with a €150m turnover. Tom was in charge of all Operations, Logistics and Engineering with a staff of 200 employees. He holds a primary degree in Engineering (Dublin) and a first class honours Business degree from UCD. Tom worked part-time for Staycity since April 2003, and joined full-time in 2006.
Gary Wickham - Chief Operations Officer
Gary was previously Managing Director of Reheis Pharmaceuticals and Chemical Plant manager for Henkel Loctite Ireland with responsibility for investment, design, construction and operation of their biomedical facility. He holds a primary honours degree in Applied Sciences (Dublin) and a first class honours business degree from UCD. Gary joined Staycity full-time at the end of 2003. Gary acts as COO.
Ger Walsh - IT & Online Marketing Director
Ger achieved an honours software engineering degree from DCU. Before Staycity was founded he worked in the pensions and insurance industry with Exaxe; and with biometrics specialists, Daon. Since 2003, he has been Director of IT and online marketing for Staycity.
Colm Whooley - Finance Director
Joined StayCity in April 2010 from John Sisk & Son Ltd where Colm was Finance Director for the previous seven years. Sisk is the largest construction company in Ireland and has built many of Ireland's largest and most prestigious projects including Croke Park, Aviva Stadium, Conference Centre, Dundrum Shopping Centre and the Shannon tunnel. In his role as FD, Colm had responsibility for all the financial aspects of all the property development deals that Sisk were involved in. Colm is a Chartered Accountant having qualified previously with KPMG in Dublin.
Non-Executive
Alan Wyley - Chairman
Alan has been a director of Staycity since July 2007 and Chairman since October 2010. Alan has significant experience in building profitable fast growing businesses, in eWare which he sold to Computer Associates, and more recently as CEO of EuroCommerce which focuses on the travel and airline sectors and which he successfully sold to DataCash plc. Alan serves on/chairs several other business and voluntary boards and is an FCA with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
Anthony Carragher
Anthony is on the Board of StayCity to represent Irelandia's significant investment and shareholding. Irelandia is the investment vehicle of the Ryan family, founders of Ryanair and leading global aviation entrepreneurs, where Anthony is Partner/Chief Financial Officer. Irelandia helped found and develop several Low Cost Carriers including Tiger Airways based in Singapore and VivaAerobus in Mexico, through its aviation investment branch, Irelandia Aviation. They were also early investors in Allegiant Airways based in Las Vegas. Irelandia also have extensive property and other private equity investments.
Paul Dowling
Paul joined the Staycity board in 2010. Current activities are as a private investor and director, mostly in high growth companies. Previous roles 2008-2011 were head of Strategy and Ventures for SSE Group, as well as CEO of SSE Renewables. From 1997 to 2008 he was part of the team that built and sold Airtricity for €1.2 billion. Paul is a chartered engineer and holds an MBA from Trinity College.
