ABOUT STAYCITY

Headquartered in Dublin, Staycity is a profitable, privately held company. We operate more than 1000 serviced apartments in city centre locations in Birmingham, Dublin, Edinburgh, Liverpool, London, Manchester and Paris. Staycity is growing quickly with many new openings in 2014.

All apartments are high quality and are a compelling hotel alternative for business and leisure travellers. In contrast to hotel rooms, apartments offer more space, independence and flexibility. They are family-friendly and ideal for small leisure groups as they deliver an unbeatable cost per person.

Executive

Tom Walsh - Co-founder/Chief Executive Officer
Tom was previously Plant Manager of Henkel Loctite Ireland, a high-tech specialty chemical and biomedical manufacturer with a €150m turnover. Tom was in charge of all Operations, Logistics and Engineering with a staff of 200 employees. He holds a primary degree in Engineering (Dublin) and a first class honours Business degree from UCD. Tom worked part-time for Staycity since April 2003, and joined full-time in 2006.

Anthony Carragher - Chief Commercial and Development Officer
Anthony has served on the board of Staycity since 2007. In October 2013 he joined the company to act in an executive role as Chief Commercial and Development Officer. He remains on the board in a director role also. Previously Anthony had worked for seventeen years for Irelandia, the investment vehicle of the Ryan family, founders of Ryanair and leading global aviation entrepreneurs, where Anthony was Partner/Chief Financial and Investment Officer. Irelandia helped found and develop several Low Cost Carriers including Tiger Airways based in Singapore and VivaAerobus in Mexico, through its aviation investment branch, Irelandia Aviation. They were also early investors in Allegiant Airways based in Las Vegas. Irelandia also made extensive property, and other private equity, investments.

Ger Walsh - Co-founder/IT & Online Marketing Director
Ger achieved an honours software engineering degree from DCU. Before Staycity was founded he worked in the pensions and insurance industry with Exaxe; and with biometrics specialists, Daon. Since 2003, he has been Director of IT and online marketing for Staycity.

Colm Whooley - Finance Director
Joined Staycity in April 2010 from John Sisk & Son Ltd where Colm was Finance Director for the previous seven years. Sisk is the largest construction company in Ireland and has built many of Ireland's largest and most prestigious projects including Croke Park, Aviva Stadium, Conference Centre, Dundrum Shopping Centre and the Shannon tunnel. In his role as FD, Colm had responsibility for all the financial aspects of all the property development deals that Sisk were involved in. Colm is a Chartered Accountant having qualified previously with KPMG in Dublin.

Non-Executive

Alan Wyley - Chairman
Alan has been a director of Staycity since July 2007 and Chairman since October 2010. Alan has significant experience in building profitable fast growing businesses, in eWare which he sold to Computer Associates, and more recently as CEO of EuroCommerce which focuses on the travel and airline sectors and which he successfully sold to DataCash plc. Alan serves on/chairs several other business and voluntary boards and is an FCA with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.

Declan Ryan
Declan is a member of the Ryan family, Ireland's leading aviation entrepreneurs. He is a former CEO and Board member of Ryanair. He now leads the family investment vehicle, Irelandia. Irelandia holds major strategic stakes in several regional Low Cost Carriers including Tiger Airways based in Singapore and Aerobus in Mexico, through its aviation investment branch, Irelandia Aviation. They have recently sold their stake in Allegiant Airways in Texas. They also have extensive property and industrial investments.

Paul Dowling
Paul joined the Staycity board in 2010. Current activities are as a private investor and director, mostly in high growth companies. Previous roles 2008-2011 were head of Strategy and Ventures for SSE Group, as well as CEO of SSE Renewables. From 1997 to 2008 he was part of the team that built and sold Airtricity for €1.2 billion. Paul is a chartered engineer and holds an MBA from Trinity College.

Michael Flaxman
Michael joined the Staycity board in 2014. Previously, he was President & CEO of the hotels division for Accor, then became Development Director, Novotel Worldwide. Michael has worked in various operational as well as development positions for Thistle Hotels, HMI and Trusthouse Forte Hotels in the UK, Africa and North America.
In 2006, Accor appointed Michael Chief Operating Officer, Northern, Central & Eastern Europe spearheading development in the region as well as the operation of over 700 hotels in 12 countries. In 2009, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer, The Americas, based in New York, where he was responsible for over 1,200 Hotels throughout North and South America.

Target Locations
In the US and Australasia, where the concept of Serviced Apartments has been around longer, Serviced Apartments command a 7% slice of the available hotel accommodation i.e. 350,000 units from a total of 5 million hotel rooms. In Europe, it is 1% or 50,000 units from a total of 5 million European hotel rooms.

Our Aims
Our customers are responding by seeking our accommodation solutions in many more European cities. Our 5 year plan will see us meeting our customers’ requirements in more and more cities and building a portfolio of 4,000 apartments, while growing our revenues from €25 million today to over €100 million.
